Linking Researchers and Industry
- The Avicenna Alliance is dedicated to ensuring that the full innovation cycle of predictive medicine is represented.
- The members of the Avicenna Alliance are evenly divided between the academic community represented by The Virtual Physiological Human (VPH) organisation on one hand and the representatives from Medical Devices, Pharmaceuticals, Software and Service Providers industries on the other hand. Each community represent 50% of the Avicenna Alliance.
- This partnership between industry and academia enables the Avicenna Alliance to address the challenges of the predictive medicine and in silico market from pre-clinical research all the way to post-market.
- The Alliance focuses on four important themes addressed by four working groups:
- Research and Technology to bridge the gap between academic and industrial research while identifying funding opportunities
- Policy Development to understand the agenda and motivations of EU policymakers and ensure that in silico technology remains a high priority
- International Affairs to coordinate the adoption and deployment of in silico methods worldwide
- In Silico Application for a rapid deployment of in silico solutions at the patient’s bedside
