Abstract
In the advancement of the use and adoption of in silico as a methodology in medical device development, the bare essentials of why we are here is often lost. This webinar will break down the arguments of how the need for an alternative to conventional clinical investigations from animal models to testing unknown devices on high-risk patients, has driven the need to find alternatives. We will examine the ethical dilemmas of more traditional clinical models, and navigate the ethical and legal landscape of how a future pathway for medical devices could look like using alternative clinical investigation models such as computer simulated in silico modelling.
