Avicenna Alliance at BMES Conference in Washington- video available!

In the week of 15-18 May 2017 the Avicenna Alliance was in Washington DC, following an invitation by the FDA and by the staff of Senator T. Cochran to discuss the role of in silico medicine. The Delegation consisted of Avicenna Alliance Members, an EMA Representative, FDA Representatives, US-Avicenna Contacts, US Senate Staff and the RPP Group.

During the US trip, the Avicenna Alliance Delegation participated in the BMES/FDA Frontiers in Medical Devices Conference co-sponsored by the Biomedical Engineering Society (BMES) and the FDA who formed a partnership to co-sponsor the 3rd annual BMES/FDA Frontiers in Medical Devices Conference, a meeting for researchers, engineers, clinicians and other professionals in the fields of designing, building and using medical devices.

The theme of the conference this year was Innovations in Modeling and Simulation: Advancing Translational Science. The objective of this conference was to highlight exemplary applications of computational modeling and simulation from initial disease diagnosis through long-term follow-up and rehabilitation. The Avicenna Alliance had the opportunity to present and advertise its activities at the conference on why policy matters for business.

Below you can see the speeches of Dr. Tina Morrison, Chair of Modeling and Simulation Working Group, FDA, Avicenna Alliance Secretary General Adriano Henney and the Secretariat represented by James Kennedy.
