Avicenna Alliance at VPH2026: a strong community shaping the future of in silico medicine

What a week in Milan! VPH2026 brought together around 650 experts from across the global in silico medicine community, creating an inspiring forum for exchange, collaboration and new ideas.

With contributions from the European Commissionand the European Medicines Agency, and strong participation from leading industry players including Johnson & Johnson, Zimmer Biomet, Bayer andTakeda, as well as several Avicenna Alliance members, including Synopsys, InSilicoTrials, MDsim, Numalogics, RBF Morphand Twinsight, the conference showcased how rapidly in silico medicine is moving from scientific innovation towards real-world application.

The Avicenna Alliance was strongly represented, with several Working Group and Task Force Leaders actively contributing to the programme and discussions, including Marc Horner, Liesbet Geris, Georgios Stamatakos, Erica Beaucage-Gauvreau, Cristina Curreli and Bernard Staumont. Professors Francesco Migliavacca, Francesco Pappalardo and Marco Viceconti also contributed to the rich scientific programme.

Beyond the presentations, VPH2026 was a fantastic opportunity to connect people, strengthen collaborations and build bridges across science, industry, healthcare and regulation — exactly the kind of collaboration needed to accelerate the responsible adoption of in silico approaches.

A huge thank you to Liesbet Geris (VPH Society) and Francesco Migliavacca (Politecnico di Milano) for organising such a fantastic event and bringing this vibrant community together in Milan!

The future of in silico medicine is being built together — and Avicenna is proud to be part of it.
