Signature of Memorandum of Understanding with FDA !

In the week of 15-18 May 2017 the Avicenna Alliance was in Washington DC, following an invitation by the FDA and by the staff of Senator T. Cochran to discuss the role of in silico medicine. The Delegation consisted of Avicenna Alliance Members, an EMA Representative, FDA Representatives, US-Avicenna Contacts, US Senate Staff and the RPP Group.
On the first day of the US trip (the visit to the FDA), the undisputed main achievement of the day was the signature of the Memorandum of Understanding by the FDA Chief Scientist Luciana Borio and Avicenna Alliance Secretary General Adriano Henney, making the FDA an Observer Member of the Alliance. The MoU is meant to ensure that the successful collaboration will continue in the next months and years and to guide and help each other.
Another great achievement is that the FDA agreed to put the Avicenna Alliance in touch with other regulators in the Asia-Pacific regions, thereby further extending the global cooperation on in silico that the Alliance is striving to achieve.
