SILICA General Assembly - Strengthening collaboration on AI, synthetic data and in silico methods in healthcare
29/10/2026
The Avicenna Alliance is pleased to support initiatives that bring stakeholders together to advance the use of artificial intelligence, synthetic data, and computational modelling and simulation in healthcare.
Our President and Secretary General, Thierry Marchal, participated in the recent General Assembly of the SILICA Alliance on 12 October, representing Avicenna Alliance and contributing to the dialogue on the future of data-driven innovation in healthcare.
Over the past two years, SILICA has brought together French-speaking experts in healthcare data and AI to better understand the needs of the ecosystem, strengthen dialogue with institutional stakeholders, and establish a common language around emerging technologies.
The General Assembly, held at Unicancer, provided an opportunity to review progress made in 2025–2026 and discuss priorities for the coming years.
Key topics included:
- Unlocking the potential of artificial and synthetic data to strengthen clinical studies, improve statistical power, support analyses of specific subpopulations, and address gaps in available data.
- Engaging with regulatory and institutional stakeholders to promote approaches that support innovation while maintaining scientific rigour and participant protection.
- Building a shared terminology through the development of the SILICA glossary, an initiative involving collaboration with organisations including the Avicenna Alliance and other healthcare stakeholders.
Looking ahead to 2027, SILICA aims to expand its partnerships, strengthen engagement with authorities, and foster knowledge exchange through webinars and dedicated events.
At Avicenna Alliance, we believe that collaboration across organisations and stakeholder communities is essential to advancing the responsible use of AI, synthetic data, and in silico methods in healthcare. Shared terminology, robust scientific methodologies, and regulatory dialogue are important building blocks for translating innovation into real-world impact.
We welcome opportunities to work with initiatives such as SILICA to support a more connected ecosystem for data-driven healthcare innovation.
