Panelist: Dr. Simon Sonntag holds a doctorate in medical engineering and has over 10 years of experience in the field of computer-aided simulation for medical device development and regulatory approval. He is a board member of various societies and associations, including the European Society of Artificial Organs, and chairs the notified bodies task force of the Avicenna Alliance. He is managing director and founder of Virtonomy GmbH, with the goal of replacing clinical trials on animals and humans with data-driven virtual patients.
Abstract: This webinar will show the work of Virtonomy on data-driven modeling in the cardiovascular device design and approval process with several examples like Ventricular Assist Devices (VADs), a Total Artificial Heart and Artificial Heart Valves. We will also give some insights of our current products that are under development.
