Avicenna Avicenna participates in AI For Health Summit
On 10 November, fiive Avicenna Representatives; Emmanuelle Voisin (Founder and CEO, Neighborhood, Voisin Consulting Life Sciences), Prof. Liesbet Geris (University of Liege) ,Thierry Marchal (Avicenna Alliance Secretary-General), Markus Reiterer (Medtronic Distinguished Scientist) and Simon Sonntag (Virtonomy Co-founder & CEO) will discuss AI and the digitalisation of healthcare at the AI for Health Summit.
European Parliament adopted the Artificial Intelligence package
On 20 October the European Parliament adopted the Artificial Intelligence (AI) package. The European Parliament is among the first institutions to put forward recommendations on what AI rules should include with regards to ethics, liability and intellectual property rights. These recommendations will feed into the Commission legislative proposals laying down requirements for AI that is expected to be announced by the end of the year.

On 30 September the European Commission adopted a Communication on a new European Research Area for Research and Innovation. This Communication sets out the next policy initiatives and policy targets aiming to reform and create a modern European Research Area (ERA) in the EU.
